Promotional Statement

I plan on creating several promotional materials. The first will be a business card. Business cards are extremely useful because they are small, portable, and have all the information needed on them. The business card will promote me as an illustrator and portrait photographer.
Another option would be a flyer or poster, something which would work well on bulletin boards. It would have a brief overview of my services with examples of my artwork and possibly business cards at the bottom for people to take.
Another option is a postcard, advertising me as a portrait photographer. It'd have a good example and be snazzy n stuff.

I am well aware of this statement and how it needs to be fixed a lot, but as of right now I'm not sure how to make 500 words out of this since I haven't made it yet.

Promotional Material Examples: stuff that makes me just wanna buy buy buy

Yee-Haw Print Shop in Knoxville, TN (right next to my home town), Makes amazing posters. Their sense of humor and unique print and illustration style make their stuff in high demand and well recognized. Here is a poster they made for the Farmer's Market in Market Square.

Okay, fake event, but still a great poster. Again, by Yee-Haw Print Shop.

Here are the business card designs for Matthew Inman, the creator of The Oatmeal, an awesome site with funny comics and a good use of illustrator and vectors.

So these cards are cool because they are half the size of normal ones, simple, and colorful. Very creative yet professional.

here's a link to how he made them: link

Here's an example of a great and interesting post card design.

okay this is a great design, because it folds into the size of the business card, but it opens up to a bigger, postcard size, plus it's got a "return this card" element, allowing people to also return information.
and the colors are nice, and the text is easy to understand.

new logo design

This is a logo design I made for a blog of mine. Just thought I'd post it, since I learned how to make it in this wonderful class.

Final Logos

Well, I got better at illustrator to say the least.

and here are them singularly:

I think it would represent an Organic Musicians' group or something.

And now the second:

a rework of "Hamburger Cafe," Now better than ever as "Zesty Hamburger Cafe"

Here's another one I just made in class, it's a bipolar pill.

logos

this one's nice because of the way the audio cord makes the acronym of the company

The text mimics what it says, "loop". It's simple and effective.
A simple combination that makes sense and works. The only thing I would've changed, though, is that the aroma arrows look like trees to me without the text. If the coffee cup was a computer monitor, or had those two little click buttons of a mouse it might be more effective. Or if the loop of the cup was made of the cord of the mouse.

cossacks are militarily minded, so the sword makes good sense.

red for heart, red and white for health, small cross for health, heart for health, and it kinda looks like a road. so it's like, the road to recovery.

this is nice because the letters make the hand so well

it looks like the bottle is a pear, and it's unravelling to show the core. simple, effective.
simple and sleek, just like what you might expect from a premium design.

the colors are of an african flag, and the film makes africa

simple, effective. it would've been cool to see the flame thing on a negative though

it makes a foot print. like a child's.

green, person, earth shaped, and animals. perfect for nature themed logo.
red, like wine, associated with bistros. splash, makes it look like a ladle or a b. both work.

elephant + fruit = elephruit. color is fruity too. Kinda looks like a giraffe or dinosaur, though...
